{About]

Hi, I'm Alex. I'm a 27 year old mother of two and wife of the one. I am a home-owner of a very modest West Auckland (NZ) home that I love with all of my heart and slowly but surely I am transforming it into a haven. I have a love of all things vintage, or oozing character and a wee obsession with reading diy and decor blogs and magazines.

I have always had a dream to do something with my interests... and the conception of this blog  idea of the conception of this blog came not long after I spotted this lovely quote on pinterest:

Off course I have well procrastinated that idea for a while... yet time has passed and here I am...kicking things off!

I don't think reading blogs can be classed as work - in fact for me it is work avoidance. But this got me thinking about how much I love being inspired by other peoples creative blogs, yet how little I actually spend exploring the ideas that interest me so much. Here though lies is the opportunity I need. To find myself, my individuality, and get my creative juices flowing once more.

The thought process has been ongoing, but in the lead up to kicking this blog off the ground, I have found myself feeling something I haven't felt in quite some time.... excitement! In fact I have been overwhelmed by my feelings of sheer excitement, yet also burdened with fear... what if I suck?? What if I can't pull this off in the way all of my favorite bloggers do? BUT most of all I am just so damn ready to do something for me... and why not put it out there? Why not?

Don't get me wrong, I live a good life and have the two best, most gorgeous loveable children EVER - but to be fair... life has been a lot about them, and very little about me for the last 5 years... and the thought of partaking in a real life hobby, is just.... great!!

So without further ado, I introduce myself to you - I'm Alex, and I'm here to make stuff, home {made}.

  1. Sounds like we have a lot more in common than just a Gabby! We all wonder the same things about our blog! I have only been blogging for 3 months now and I question my ability daily!
Continue to participate in SITS, we have so much information and we are there to help! Good Luck and stay in touch!
